Center Court: NCAA East 2024 Preliminary Rounds

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Thirty-eight Tennessee track and field athletes traveled to Lexington, Kentucky, to begin NCAA postseason action in the Eastern Preliminary Rounds this week. The four-day regional competition is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22 through Saturday, May 25 at the University of Kentucky Athletics Complex.

The Big Orange will have 46 entries in the meet, competing in 25 events throughout the competition. The top 12 finishers in each event will advance to the NCAA National Championships, scheduled for June 5-8 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Broadcast coverage will begin each day with on-track events, starting at 6 pm ET on Wednesdays and Thursdays and at 5 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

CLASSIFIED VOLS: In the latest installment of the US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Athletics Rating Index, the Tennessee women were ranked 10th, while the Vols were ranked 12th. UT is one of seven schools in the country to have both teams ranked in the top 12 nationally.

UNTIL NEXT TIME: The top 12 finishers in each NCAA East Preliminary event will advance to the NCAA Division I National Championships, which will be held June 5-8 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
