Celtics vs. Score Pacers: Live updates, highlights from Game 1 as Eastern Conference finals open in Boston

The top-seeded Boston Celtics will host the sixth-seeded Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals on Tuesday at TD Garden. Indiana has reached its first conference finals since 2014 with an offense that has continued to put up historic numbers by picking up the pace. Boston, on the other hand, will be making its sixth appearance in the conference finals in the last eight years.

Tyrese Haliburton has been a star as the Pacers led the NBA in scoring during the regular season, averaging 123.3 points per game. Boston, behind Jayson Tatum and Co., averaged 120.6 points per game in the regular season, ranking No. 2.

Indiana shot 67.1 percent from the field (an NBA playoff record) as it beat the host New York Knicks 130-109 in Game 7 of the conference semifinals on Sunday. Boston has been resting for almost a week after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games in the second round.

Kristaps Porzingis (right soleus strain) is still out for the Celtics, while Xavier Tillman (personal reasons) will also miss Game 1. The Pacers have ruled out Bennedict Mathurin (torn labrum) for the remainder of the playoffs.

The Celtics won three of five against the Pacers during the regular season.
