DC area forecast: Warm sunshine through midweek before storms Thursday night

A somewhat subjective rating of the time of day, on a scale of 0 to 10.

9/10: Make way for a very beautiful day worthy of a hurray.

A big blast of summer heat will hit Washington in the coming days. Humidity isn’t too bad initially, but should pick up tomorrow and especially Thursday ahead of a cold front. Thunderstorms could be strong to severe Thursday afternoon into the evening as the front approaches. Then, the forecast becomes complicated. The front could stall just to the south, complicating our forecast for the holiday weekend.
