West Phoenix truck crash leaves man hospitalized

The crash occurred near 67th Avenue and Buckeye Road early Wednesday morning, police said.

PHOENIX — A man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a truck in west Phoenix Wednesday morning, a city police spokesman said.

The crash occurred around 5:45 a.m. near 67th Avenue and Buckeye Road, according to initial reports. When officers arrived, they found the man seriously injured in the road.

Investigators believe he was hit by a passing truck. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and is reportedly cooperating with police.

Authorities did not immediately release the identity of the pedestrian and it is currently unknown what caused the accident.
