Man hit by passing truck west of Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZ Family) – A man was seriously injured after being hit by a truck in west Phoenix early Wednesday morning.

Around 5:45 a.m., Phoenix police officers were called to 67th Avenue and Buckeye Road after passersby reported a man lying in the street with serious injuries. Officers believe the man was hit by a passing truck. He was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say the driver of the truck stayed at the scene and is speaking with police.

West and eastbound directions will be closed for several hours as the investigation continues. Southbound lanes are open to drivers.
