Government offices (Los Angeles city and county, national and state) and superior courts, libraries and schools are typically closed on Memorial Day.

Here is a sample of services that are closed, have altered service, or are on regular hours on May 27.

Banks: Closed. Additionally, the NYSE markets are closed (

Courts: Closed. Los Angeles County Superior Court Calendar for 2024,

Libraries: Los Angeles Public Library locations are closed.

Los Angeles County Library locations are closed.;

Mail: The US Postal Service is not delivering regular mail and post offices are closed.

Transit: Buses and metro services in Los Angeles operate on a Saturday/Sunday/Holiday schedule ( For example, the schedule for the G Line (also known as the Orange Line) is here:
