Woman accused of stabbing boyfriend to death in west Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZ Family) – A woman is behind bars after police say she stabbed her boyfriend to death during a fight in Maryvale Sunday afternoon.

It happened near 52nd Avenue and Windsor, south of Thomas Road.

According to police, shortly after 12 noon, Esperanza Bautista Valencia, 52, called 911 and said she had stabbed her boyfriend.

Officers arrived at the home and found a dead man in his 50s who had been stabbed multiple times in the driveway.

Investigators said there was some type of domestic dispute, but did not say what it was.

Valencia was jailed on murder charges, police said.

The victim’s name has not been released as his family has not yet been notified.
