Republican National Committee headquarters briefly closed after discovery of suspicious package

The Republican National Committee headquarters in Washington, D.C., was briefly locked down Wednesday morning after a suspicious package was discovered.

(CNN)— The Republican National Committee headquarters in Washington, D.C., was briefly locked down Wednesday morning after a suspicious package was discovered.

A law enforcement source told CNN that the package contained two vials of blood, a Korean Bible and two bags of ice. A clearance was issued shortly after 9 a.m. ET.

A hazardous materials team is on scene and the US Capitol Police are involved in the investigation.
