Peter Dutton courts GPs with $400m plan to rescue specialty

Following its cold response to last week’s federal budget, the AMA praised the opposition’s budget response for its plan to attract more young doctors to become GPs.

Peter Dutton, who AusDoc Readers, once dubbed the worst health minister since 1980, has promised that a coalition government would provide $32,500 grants to young doctors trained as GPs, to help address the pay disparity between registered doctors and their hospital counterparts.
