QUEENS, NY (PIX11) – A 5-year-old boy was fatally struck by a driver in the College Point neighborhood of Queens Saturday night, according to police.

Police from the 109th Precinct responded to a 911 call about a vehicle collision near 20-19 124 Street a few minutes after 6 p.m., authorities said.

“I was sitting nearby when a man got out of the car and yelled where the boy’s parents were,” said a witness at the park at the time of the incident. “Me and other people ran to see what was happening, but the child was under the car tire.”

According to police, the driver of the vehicle was driving south on 124th Street when the 5-year-old boy ran into the street. The driver hit the child with a Honda.
