Latest forecast for Raleigh and central North Carolina

After strong, severe storms hit the state on Saturday, the risk of severe weather will ease overnight with rain persisting into Sunday.

Most of the rain that will persist on Sunday will be lighter and without much, if any, lightning. Temperatures will start in the upper 50s to lower 60s at the start of the day.

Some showers are possible during the day on Sunday with highs in the low to mid 70s. These temperatures will be 5 to 10 degrees colder than average for this time of year.

We will gradually warm up throughout the week and reach the upper 80s after midweek.
