PHOENIX, NY – For the ninth consecutive year, John C. Birdlebough High School in Phoenix hosted the countywide Olympiad Invitational event.

This event took place on May 16 and welcomed 403 athletes and their families, support staff and spectators alike. Athletes participated in friendly competitions including track running, softball throwing, shot put, standing and running long jump, field games, and hand bikes. They had the opportunity to have their faces painted, met the school mascots and interacted with the many attendees.

This was a team effort, with many Phoenix student and staff groups playing an important role. The anthem was sung by Phoenix alumni Brook Jones and Nick Trask. Members of the National Honor Society led all activities. Phoenix Sports Boosters provided more than 350 lunches to athletes along with ice cream.
