Massachusetts homicide suspect arrested in Willimantic

Massachusetts fugitive arrested in Willimantic on May 23, 2024.

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTNH) – Willimantic police say a fugitive from Massachusetts was arrested at his residence in Willimantic early Thursday morning.

Lee George-Maldonado was wanted in Massachusetts for kidnapping with a firearm, possession of a firearm without a license, conspiracy to violate the drug law, serious assault and armed robbery.

According to police, he is also a suspect in a current homicide investigation in the state.

On Thursday morning, he was located at his residence on Taylor Court and arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service and the CT Violent Fugitive Task Force without incident, according to police.

He was also charged with arrest as a fugitive from justice without a warrant in Connecticut.

George-Maldonado was held on $2 million bail. He is scheduled to appear in Danielson court on Thursday, May 23.
