SUV slides off Massachusetts highway, crashes into beehives, trees

An accident is under investigation in Milton on Tuesday after a pickup truck left the road, knocking down beehives and trees. The accident occurred around 1:30 pm near 630 Brush Hill Road. The homeowner had hives near where the truck stopped, and the bees were disturbed by creating an obstacle for crews when they arrived. “They are trapped in the car and there is a beehive that they hit,” the dispatcher warned the first responders. From Sky5, a black Infiniti SUV could be seen on its side in a pile of tree debris against a Volkswagen SUV that was parked in a driveway. “We couldn’t even see the car when we first arrived. Once we cleared some brush, it was clear that no one was hurt, it was just rolled over a little to one side,” said Milton Fire Deputy Mitchell Sumner. Skid marks and tire marks could be seen in the yard of a neighbor who was driving the crashed SUV. No injuries were reported. “We were lucky that the back of the vehicle opened and we were able to get the two people out of the vehicle,” Sumner said. The Infiniti was towed from the scene. The Volkswagen suffered some damage.
