Lucky 13! Exit HBP keeps Texas Rangers above .500

The Texas Rangers scored three runs while the Anaheim Angels scored twice in 13 innings.

If you can’t score a run on a hit, why not score on a hit by pitch? That’s how the Rangers got the winning run in the 13th inning after Texas and Anaheim combined to go 2-30 (LAA 0-18, TEX 2-12) with runners in scoring position.

The victory keeps the Rangers above .500 and is the eighth time this season that Texas has played a game with a .500 record and won to avoid falling below .500 for the first time in Bruce Bochy’s tenure.

game player: Congratulations to José Ureña for six one-run innings and David Robertson and Yerry Rodríguez for two innings each to sail around the Manfred Man to keep the game tied long enough for the Rangers to abandon it.

Until next time: The Rangers look to win the series with RHP Michael Lorenzen next from Texas against RHP José Soriano from Anaheim.

The Sunday afternoon finale of The Shed is scheduled for 1:35 pm CT and will air on BS Southwest.
